Basement Café 01841 532846 Situated in the Drang, a cobbled area adjacent to the harbour, the Basement has an al fresco dining area overlooking the harbour. The menu specialises in locally caught fish and is inspired by the owner's travels around Thailand.

Harbour Inn 01841 533148 The smallest of the four St Austell Brewery pubs in town. It is situated in Strand Street, next to the Old Customs House. It is another character pub and is recommended for food. Popular with visitors.

London Inn 01841 532554 A popular local pub, the London Inn is in Lanadwell Street. It is a St Austell pub, full of character with low ceilings. It has a separate restaurant which is recommended for low cost, tasty, traditional pub food.

Margot Thomas 01841 533441 One of Padstow's most popular restaurants, it is often booked up several weeks in advance. It is in Duke Street opposite the post office.

Jack's 01841 533238 A delightful cafe tucked away in Parnall's Court, a small alley beside Stein's Patisserie. It specialises in fair trade coffee and has a small courtyard for al fresco dining. Closed Mondays.

Number 6 01841 532093 A smart restaurant for the discerning diner. Situated in Middle Street. Paul Ainsworth is a locally renowned chef with a very good reputation.

Old Customs House 01841 532359 The largest of the St Austell Brewery pubs, the Customs is very popular with both visitors and locals alike. Recommended for good, reasonably priced pub food. It has a large screen in the back room for watching sports matches.

Old Ship Hotel 01841 532357 A large, family owned hotel, it is the other free house in town. It is a popular lunch choice for those with young children as it has a conservatory and also a large seating area outside. It also has live music most Friday and Saturday nights and has screens for watching sport; particularly rugby.

Pescadou 01841 532359 This is the restaurant attached to the Old Custom's House Hotel. It is a popular choice for visitors and has views over the harbour.

Pucellis 01841 533313 The best appointed restaurant in town. It is above Walker's cafe with views across the harbour and over to Rock. It has large windows which open up in summer to give the feeling of al fresco dining. Booking not necessary.

Rojano's 01841 532796 A pasta and pizza place in Mill Square near the Old Ship Hotel. It is reasonably priced and welcomes families, popular with visitors and locals alike. It also does take away pizza. Closed in winter.

Seafood Restaurant 01841 532700 Rick Stein's flagship restaurant. It is on South Quay opposite the harbour car park. Booking is essential. Many visitors come to Padstow just to eat in this restaurant and they are not disappointed.

Shipwrights 01841 532451 A St Austell Brewery pub on North Quay opposite the Red Brick Building. It has outside seating and a recently refurbished second floor, both ideal to watch activities on the quayside. It is recommended for pub food.
